Castoreum Artificial of the animalic family is considered to be in the bottom (base) notes category with a high, yet sweet leathery odor strength. At 100%, this long lasting aroma chemical smells strongly of the leather in the opening and moves into a woody like character during the bloom. As it dries down, an animalic aroma appears and in the final hour, a resinous quality is detected.
